CMC takes the suppliers as vital business partners, and adopts mutual responsibility of risk and profit sharing as the mode of long-term cooperation on the basis of mutual trust and for the realization of the common goal of building a sustainable supply chain for stable development. The importance of items of purchase and the stability of the quality of goods and responsiveness of the suppliers will be considered in the evaluation of suppliers.
CMC regards suppliers as long-term, strategic partners and strives to build a stable, resilient supply chain. New suppliers are evaluated not only on basic information but also on management capability, production and R&D capacity, quality systems, environmental performance, and pricing competitiveness. Suppliers are also required to commit to environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and human rights through signed agreements, supporting shared corporate social responsibility.
To achieve these goals, CMC has established a comprehensive supply chain management system to guide supplier development, management, and monitoring, overseeing quality, delivery, volume, service, and cost, while continuously enhancing overall supply chain efficiency and sustainability.
CMC’s procurement strategy focuses on developing and nurturing quality local suppliers to promote supply chain localization. This approach shortens lead times, meets customer demand for fast delivery, and reduces transportation energy use and excessive packaging from overseas sourcing, minimizing resource waste.
Additionally, collaboration with local suppliers increases the recyclability of packaging materials and supports local economic development. CMC’s procurement covers both direct production materials and packaging, as well as indirect production parts and equipment.
For qualified packaging suppliers, CMC establishes audit plans covering management, production and equipment maintenance, quality systems, environmental management, and social responsibility.
The table below shows CMC’s supplier statistics for 2023–2024, including the number of countries, country distribution, and the percentage of purchase amount and number of suppliers for domestic and overseas suppliers.
